Job Description

Candidates who are employed will be expected to work in the assembly plant or section of the employer. These are some of the functions you will be expected to handle.

When raw materials are brought into the plant or factory, you and your team in the assembly department will be expected to sort them into individual groups to be taken to the production facility. Materials should be arranged in a particular order based on instructions.

Finished products brought to the assembly line have to be packaged into appropriate boxes, containers, or cases as the case may be. Packaging them according to instructions is very important.

Transferring items from one section to another may be expected of you.

In the case where the employer does not have a cleaning department or staff, you may be asked to clean the work area before or after work. In special cases where the work area requires constant cleaning, you will be expected to clean the area so as not to cause work disruptions.

In line with prevailing circumstances, you will be asked to perform certain emergency tasks by your supervisor from time to time.

Qualifications

The qualifications for this job are minimal. They are as follows.

A minimum of a High school diploma or an equivalent

Assembly Jobs require working with certain specialist tools and equipment. Therefore, you will have to learn how to use these tools on the job. Your employer will provide you with the training you need, but the responsibility lies with you to apply yourself so you can learn quickly.

The job of an assembler requires a lot of on-the-job communication. Therefore, you need to have good communication skills to digest instructions and carry them out to the letter. You should also be able to communicate your point clearly to your work colleagues and supervisors.

Having good proactive and reactive problem-solving skills is vital. Identifying problems are proffering solutions to them before they become worse is a skill that is highly recommended and appreciated.

Working with others is going to be a routine. You should be very good at collaborating with others at the assembly plant.

Working with little or no supervision is crucial. Once work instructions are issued, it is imperative that you follow them to the letter with minimal supervision.

Having a strong work ethic and personal motivation is an enduring quality expected of you by the employer.
